Smoke Free Kampala Campaign (2017)
Overview
In 2017, the Smoke Free Kampala Campaign was initiated by the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) in conjunction with civil society organizations like the Centre for Tobacco Control in Africa (CTCA), to enforce Uganda’s existing comprehensive Tobacco Control Act (2015).
Scope
- Stakeholder Engagement and Education - MoH, URA, CAA, private property owners, owners of entertainment businesses, Uganda Hotel Association and NGO’s (CDC and TFK).
- Launch of the anti-tobacco campaign in Kampala.
- Development of Radio, Print, TV and Digital Advertising.
